Teachers’ Perception of Gamification as a Teaching Design

This paper reports on a study investigating teachers’ experiences of using gamification as teaching strategy, in combination with the use contemporary and emergent technologies K–12 education. More specifically, aim was to explore understand opportunities challenges teachers describe by teaching. The conducted between 2014 2018 included four sub-studies which university students were given task designing gamified activities for school within combined such laptops, media tablets, smart glasses. students’ designs tested settings empirical material is based observations schools’ tests interviews participating teachers. findings illustrate three emerging themes concerning (a) fostering motivation collaboration,(b) needing pedagogical balance achieve deeper learning (c)organisational changes regarding time collaboration teacher teams. described an opportunity catalyst motivate have them engage schoolwork while acquiring knowledge at same time. However, obstacles perceived their own primarily concerned lack design process, they very complex because it differs from that ordinary designs.
